Book Takes Inside Look at Being Joyous Witness for Christ
Longwood, FL (PRWEB) May 8, 2008 -- As Christians, we all assume we are going to heaven and try to be good until then, but is that all? Is Christian salvation nothing more than being good today for the promise of a future? Christians have talked about salvation for so long they have forgotten its meaning and power. Xulon author Elizabeth Moreau's new release I'm Saved, so What? ($14.99, paperback, 978-1-60647-058-9) invites Christians to take an inside look at the abundant life that is made possible in our salvation--and what it means to live as joyous witnesses to Christ. The Christianity of the Bible, says the author, is a powerful, life-giving, history-changing faith, while the Christianity of the Western world is too often unremarkable and declining. Her book is a "step beyond" into deeper knowledge and greater love of God.
Says the author, a United Methodist minister, "The church has not done a good job at teaching the riches of the faith, as evidenced by Christians' inability to articulate what they believe and why in an intelligent and persuasive manner. Moreover, there is great hunger in the local church for a Christianity with more substance, depth, and purpose. If Christians do not realize or know what is theirs or who they truly are, then they cannot live it. That is what I have tried to share in this book: who we are, who God is calling us to be, and what God is inviting us to do."
Locally, the response of many Christians to Moreau's material has been overwhelmingly positive, particularly once she began a teaching ministry and had access to larger numbers of people. She says, "People want to know God. To know Him is to love Him, because He is infinitely lovable. And if we love Him and truly fellowship with Him, we will inevitably love others. We cannot do otherwise."
