New Book by Christine Hutman Proves Lesbian Breakups Lead to 28 Days of Insanity
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) July 7, 2008 -- Christine Hutman never considered herself an author, and especially not a lesbian author with a particular agenda. "I didn't set out to write a book originally. I simply kept a journal, and the result ended up being more of a lesbian comedy of sorts, which I ended up publishing."
The new book, "A 28-Day Journal of My Crazy Lesbian Breakup (and What the Radio Had to Say About It)", provides a literal day by day account of the author's breakup with her girlfriend of one year, complete with a cast of supporting characters, loosely based on Christine's three closest friends. The additional storylines revolving around her friends provided a variety of unique situations that she thought would help attract an even wider audience. "I don't think this book should be strictly regarded as a 'lesbian novel', because many of the relationship conflicts depicted are universal issues and not orientation specific."
When questioned why she would choose to publish something considered so intimate, Christine responded that the process was actually quite cathartic. She also thought that perhaps her self-described "pseudo-self-help-book" could assist others whose relationships were in distress, or provide some much needed humor in the life of someone recently broken up. "Someone might read this and think 'Gee, my relationship really isn't (or wasn't) all that bad after all!'" At its most fundamental level, the book strives to entertain, and does so by virtue of sheer human nature: "After all, who doesn't like to read about other people's drama?" Christine laughingly asks.
"A 28-Day Journal of My Crazy Lesbian Breakup (and What the Radio Had to Say About It)" will be available for purchase July 5th through AuthorHouse: Authorhouse Christine Hutman (http://www.authorhouse.com/BookStore/BookStoreSearchResults.aspx?SearchType=smpl&SearchTerm=christine+hutman).
